Middle Mewa Hydropower Project is a Peaking run-of-river type located between 1452m and 980m above mean sea level in the middle reach of Mewa Khola in Taplejung District, Province 1 of Nepal. The headworks is proposed in Temba and the powerhouse is located at Libang of Mikhwa Khola Rural Municipality along the left bank of the Mewa River. The progress of the project is hugely affected due to the rainfall-induced disaster on the night of 17th and 18th June 2023 at Hewa Khola that swept the Hewa Khola Bridge at Mechi Highway.
